I've been on a 80% kick lately and I suspect it's only going to get worse (I'm a CA resident). Anyhow, I'm using a drill press to take some waste plugs out and then a router to finish out the trigger pocket. I tried the first one (6061) dry, quickly started using a little WD40. I especially needed it when switching to the harder 7075 alloy. It feels like it works, but it could be better. What do you use?

Sorry Bob... been on a work kick and also out on the internet spreading the site.

I have used a couple different lubes from 3 in one oil as well as a cutting oil (generally used for pipe thread cutting) One of the most helpful things I have done is use a shop vac (usually requires a helper) to vac up all the shavings. Keeps removed material out of the cutting area and helps keep the bits longer as they arent recutting the already removed material.

There's a lot of different cutting fluids out there. MSC and ENCO carry many varieties. Myself, SAE 30 works fine.
