I ran into this problem, where my gun just wouldn't extract spent rounds. After a bit of investigation, I realized it was my extractor spring. Since the extractor was also worn I ordered a new extractor and when it all arrived - I couldn't get the pin out. Days later I'm still waiting on that replacement pin and I've still got to spend the time to drill the old pin out.

It got me to thinking. When failures occur in a SHTF situation - what parts and tools would I want to have on-hand to affect repairs in the field. Here's my short list.

trigger/hammer pins and springs
Everything inside and on the bolt (it's a lot of parts, but they're all tiny)
firing pin and key
cleaning/scraping tool
gas tube roll pin
bore snake
a small bottle of oil

what else though?

I keep thinking of parts that I could include, but none are really essential to operation or are impractical to have spares of (hammer, trigger, disconnector, may as well carry an LPK)

Anything on the list above that you wouldn't bother with? What would you add to your list of parts?
